From the previous 2 short posts I’ve made, you can probably get a general idea of AFA09. The concert rocks, event presence got buffed, and there’re indeed more interests than AFA08. Strangely enough, there wasn’t much that I bought, apart from the little temptation to buy the Macross Frontier Valkyrie Superpack, but heck I suppose it’s available at Hobby Art Gallery anyway. My dead wallet aside, I reckon future AFAs would do better if they sport more exclusive event-only merchandise and collectibles…

Anime Festival Asia Day 2 ended an hour ago (my light sticks are still glowing), and I suppose most would agree it ended with an inexorable high. The concert started in full force, with Fukuyama grabbing the stage and my most rapt attention, followed by the young Macross F singer May’n, and ended with two duets Diamond Crevasse and Dynamite Explosion…

I’m really too tired to really type out much of a post, but in short: -
1.) Loads of people, loads of queues
2.) Plenty more booths and fun stuff to look at, didn’t go MMKCafe though
3.) A LOT more cosplayers, they’re basically everywhere (even in the neighbouring electronics fair)
4.) Ichirou Mizuki: I’M HOME
5.) Shoko-tan: You are 最高!
6.) Ichirou Mizuki makes jokes (*coughmizucough*)
7.) Aniki steals a glance at Shoko-tan’s chest while singing BREAST FIRE
8.) Need to heal my throat; too much shouting during Aniki’s performance
9.) Someone said Aniki is so manly he has 5 penises
p.s. Miku lags
p.p.s. Looking very much forward to Day 2’s concert. Fukuyama and May’n DUET
Just watched Eva 2.0 last night, after 2 days with little sleep. I enjoyed it tremendously, despite feeling sleepy-ish throughout the show. There were plenty of action scenes, with angels popping out rather regularly to break the peace of Tokyo-3 (as well as wake me up a little). We see the old cast, Rei and Shinji, complemented with Asuka’s lively appearance, and topped off with the new mysterious bespectacled brunette Mari in a whole new Evangelion plot. A remake of the original, Evangelion 2.0, also known as 新劇場版: 破, brings the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy to a whole new exciting level.
