Just less than 24 hours ago, I’ve presented to you guys the interviews SPLA did with Fukuyama Yoshiki and Shoko-tan. And here as promised, we have their exclusive interview with May’n, rising pop star, singing voice of Macross Frontier songstress Sheryl Nome!
Just recently, a comrade from SP Life Arts egged me on the interviews they’ve just posted. Their team managed to get a chance to do exclusive interviews with the special guests who performed at AFA09’s ‘I Love Anisong’ concert. To see the interviewers have as much fun as the interviewees is one thing, but to see the gap between Singaporean fans and their Japanese idols bridged is nothing short of awesome. I had tremendous fun reading the 2 interviews, and kudos to the hard work put into them…

From the previous 2 short posts I’ve made, you can probably get a general idea of AFA09. The concert rocks, event presence got buffed, and there’re indeed more interests than AFA08. Strangely enough, there wasn’t much that I bought, apart from the little temptation to buy the Macross Frontier Valkyrie Superpack, but heck I suppose it’s available at Hobby Art Gallery anyway. My dead wallet aside, I reckon future AFAs would do better if they sport more exclusive event-only merchandise and collectibles…

Anime Festival Asia Day 2 ended an hour ago (my light sticks are still glowing), and I suppose most would agree it ended with an inexorable high. The concert started in full force, with Fukuyama grabbing the stage and my most rapt attention, followed by the young Macross F singer May’n, and ended with two duets Diamond Crevasse and Dynamite Explosion…

I’m really too tired to really type out much of a post, but in short: –
1.) Loads of people, loads of queues
2.) Plenty more booths and fun stuff to look at, didn’t go MMKCafe though
3.) A LOT more cosplayers, they’re basically everywhere (even in the neighbouring electronics fair)
4.) Ichirou Mizuki: I’M HOME
5.) Shoko-tan: You are 最高!
6.) Ichirou Mizuki makes jokes (*coughmizucough*)
7.) Aniki steals a glance at Shoko-tan’s chest while singing BREAST FIRE
8.) Need to heal my throat; too much shouting during Aniki’s performance
9.) Someone said Aniki is so manly he has 5 penises
p.s. Miku lags
p.p.s. Looking very much forward to Day 2’s concert. Fukuyama and May’n DUET
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, and I forsee hiatus in the near few weeks (or months even). Right now I’m 3 weeks into my internship, and I’ve been busy as hell. Blogging somehow goes to the lower tier of my priorities when free time is as much a scarcity as vegetation on planet Cerra. Not to mention suffering from constant gastric pains for no MF reason. Ugh. Nevertheless I’m rather pleased with the internship, with the job engaging, and my colleagues friendly. I’ve got a cool job (I sit under the aircon), a cool boss (he’s got a coolsome car), great colleagues (young and talented people), and very little time. Of course, what an occupation does is to obviously keep us occupied. If you work on a job which leaves you with a lot of free time, either it’s a dumb job or you’re a lucky bastard. Needless to say, I believe I’ll slowly be accustomed to work, and of course live with it. Afterall, we have like another 30 to 40 years of working life. Good luck if you think your job sucks and bitch about it all day long.
Returning to AFA08 after an eventful day 1, I was only mildly interested in the Cosplay Mania. Nevertheless it was still interesting enough. I realised there was an Al Azif cosplay, but I never did get close enough to get any shots. Somehow I missed out on Illya and Lolicard ones as well.
